Sheba was a black and tan German Shepard cross, A family friend gave her to us as she was the runt
of the litter so no one wanted her, if we didnt take her she was going to be given to Battersea/ put
down so my mum and dad took her in but at first my dad was unsure if we should take her as we had
our other dog SHANE. I remember when we got her shane didnt seem to like her much but my mum and dad
let them be together in the morning when we woke up we couldnt find Sheba anywhere us kids started
to cry as we thought Shane had eatten her or something but when Shane got up there she was in the
basket with him. Sheba was so sweet i can still picture her in my mind now even 12 years on. Sheba
had to be put down beacause of a personal reason which i wish not to say.
I miss this dog and wish i had done something to save her but at the time i had other things to deal
with and didnt think much about what was going on
SORRY SHEBA I HOPE YOU FORGIVE ME...
Old Dogs Do Not Die
We have a secret you and I,
That no one else shall know,
For who but I can see you lie,
Each night, in fireglow?
And who but I can reach my hand
Before I go to bed,
And feel the living warmth of you
And touch your silken head?
And only I walk woodland paths,
And see, ahead of me,
Your small form racing with the wind,
So young again, and free!
And only I can see you swim
In every brook I pass.
And, when I call, no one but I
Can see the bending grass.
